Hi everypawdy! It’s me, Bella. Today is April 11th and do you know what day it is? It is national Pet Day. This day has been founded by celebrity Pet lifestyle expert & animal welfare advocate “Colleen Paige”  with the motto “Adopt, don’t shop.” I have been given authorization by the animal miracle foundation + Network to use their pretty logo for this blog:

This is a day that has been set aside to remember that there are family pets in us shelters waiting for someone to give them a furrever home. As the Pombassador of southern California Pomeranian Rescue, I know that there are thousands of rescue organizations across the country that take some of those family pets into rescue in buy to give them a better chance of being adopted. organizations such as SCPR could not do their work without an army of volunteers and donors.

There are lots of different ways to contribute towards saving the lives of pets. If the time is not ideal for you to adopt, why not become a volunteer? find a rescue that mirrors your ideals and ask if you can help at their adoption events. Our volunteers will walk the dogs or hold and pet them. help is always appreciated to set up the equipment for an adoption event. one of our volunteers does face painting at our adoption events and generates lots of donations:

Another way to help is to foster a homeless pet while the rescue works to find a furrever home. lots of rescues rely on fosters to keep the family pets living with people so they don’t forget how to be pets. Foster pawrents get to know the pet and can help figure out the best placement for the pet: can it get along with children, other dogs or other cats?

So step up to the plate and help me help homeless family pets everywhere! At the end of this blog you can leave questions for me if you need some help or recommendations on what you can do to help. It is past my bedtime now, I have stayed up extra late today, so sweet dreams!

Love,

Bella
